Luke E. Montavon is an American documentary photographer based in Phoenix, Arizona. My focus is on stories that concern social issues in the Midwest and Mexico. I graduated of the Santa Fe University of Art & Design with a BFA in Photography. After school I was the Digital Lab Manager for the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops.

My work has been published with the Santa Fe New Mexican, The Albuquerque Journal, The Santa Fe Reporter, New Mexico Magazine, KUNM, The Georgia O’Keefe Museum, The DailyMail UK, Agence France Presse, The Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press, and Bloomberg News.

Earlier this year I was awarded a VII Foundation & VII Academy Grant to attend The Life That Remains: Photographing America’s Rural Spaces, led by Danny Wilcox-Frazier of the VII Agency.

More recently I began participating in the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) mentorship program with Benjamin Rusnak.

A limited amount of my work can be licensed through Redux Pictures in New York.
